Long-term evolution of luminescent properties in CdI2 crystals
2016
Fresh and aged melt-grown or gas-phase grown CdI2 crystals are studied by means of low-temperature photoluminescence spectroscopy. Noticeable transformations of emission spectra are observed after long-term aging. The formation of nanostructures containing cadmium oxide and cadmium hydroxide as well as the changes in local surrounding of iodine atoms and the possible growth of polytypic modifications of CdI2 are taken into account when considering the diversity of optical spectra.
Photoemission of electrons into electrolyte from cadmium oxide layers formed by anodic oxidation of undeformed and plastically deformed cadmium plates
1995
Studies of electron emission (external photoeffect) at the electrode/solution interface are an important part of contemporary photoelectrochemistry. The results of systematic studies of this phenomenon led to the formulation of fundamental relationships and to new methods for investigation of the physicochemical processes occurring at the electrode-electrolyte interface [1-4]. In particular, photoemission measurements enabled a number of parameters relating to the structure of the semiconductor/electrolyte interface to be determined. The photoemission current from semiconductors with many surface states to solutions with a sufficiently high electrolyte concentration is described by the well…
X-ray photoemission studies of the electronic structure of single-crystalline CdO(100)
2007
The electronic structure of single-crystalline CdO is investigated using X-ray photoemission spectroscopy. The surface is prepared by in situ Ar+ ion bombardment and annealing (IBA). The core level spectra before and after the IBA are presented, and reveal a dramatic reduction in the surface contamination. The semi-core Cd 4d level and valence band region following the IBA are also shown. The surface Fermi level is pinned 1.3 +/- 0.10 eV above the valence band maximum. (c) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. On the pyrolytic decomposition of cadmium carbonate
1996
The pyrolytic decomposition of cadmium carbonate was studied by thermogravimetry (TG), derivative thermogravimetry (DTG), differential thermoanalysis (DTA) and exoemission of electrons (EEE).
